Tuesday activity #2

The article is an interwiew to the actress Penelope Wilton, one of the protagonist of "Downton Abbey", a serie set in Ingleterra life in the early twentieth century. Downton is a large estate, a very wealthy family, who live a very glamorous life full of servants. Penelope is one of the voices "dissidents" within that environment conservative, since it has a great interest in the work and helping those in need, in an era where high class people simply did not work.

In the interview said what first that led to act, what is his favorite "medium" (theater and screen), what has meaning for her the worldwide success he has had "Downton Abbey", which is what had to sacrifice for his career. Also note that the biggest myth about being an actor is that it is a glamorous profession and that the worst that the critics have said about it is "you are not as good as you think you are".
Finally, he says that he does not regret anything he has done in his career. She is a great actress.

My CV

My family has lived in many cities in Chile, so I went to several schools. I started in Arica, in kindergarten , then we went to Temuco , where the school was bad, very bad, and then to another school in Rengo (municipal, bad too, but not so much) and then I went where I finished high school, one subsidized private. It was a good school , but not so much either. Not had a great time there, but I was always a good student and I did very well in the PSU . No enjoyed my classmates and my teachers , but I enjoyed learning and reading a lot. I never did sports or anything extra in the college .
Then I went to university and I had too good. I made many friends, it was very difficult to study, but I was in Valparaiso and the city also was wonderful. Finally, what I did not enjoy was the career I chose, and ended in Santiago studying journalism .

I have worked in many things. I started in college being temporera, at age 15. Several summers I did that, I was also a waitress, a cashier at a music store , I did databases, worked as a community manager ... the last two jobs I've had have been the best, because they have been a journalist: in the summer in "entertainment" at the La Segunda newspaper and now at the Universidad Mayor.

The best job I've had is a journalist for the newspaper "La Segunda", I think there really understand what being a journalist and the responsibility to make people informs, entertains and opine om what one writes.

The worst, I think temporera. is a very boring, the deal is not very good, the pay is bad. There is lived reality of the people who have the least in this country, which is full of inequalities. It's a bit sad, but I also learned a lot about how hard life is for some chileans.

My favourite piece of technology

I have a love-hate relationship with technology. I think is a very powerful tool for people's life, but I really don't like hyper people.
My favourite piece of technology is my cellphone, which was a gift from my friend Maria Ester. She gave it to me when she moves from this to another more modern, two months ago. I used every day, specially for three things: whatsapp, twitter and e-mail. Is useful for keep in touch whit my friends and family, and definitely very cheap.
My life would be different without my cellphone, for example, since I had whatsapp, I talked to friends not seen for a long time. That's was nice, but also kind of weird, because people should be friend whit or without technology.

My village

Hello there,

Today I´m going to talk about where I live.
My apartment is in a village called Los Presidentes. I live there with my brother, with whom we share the expenses. He arrived a couple of months ago, but I have lived there almost three years. It's my home, I love being there.
The village Los Presidentes is in Ñuñoa, next to the university of Chile. That´s so good for me, because for this days I work and study. My work is in Las Condes, but, at least, my classes are close from my house. For many of my friends it is far, but for me is fine. It's quiet, there are parks and animals, and a lot of different people. Old people, young people, crazy people... also, is close to "plaza ñuñoa", which is a nice place to go out with friends to drink some or dance. Sometimes I just walk over there.

My village have another interesting thing: you can find a lot of different types of food. Sound incredible, but net to my house you can find Chinese, Arabian, Peruvian and chilean food. I love that type of things, places with a lot of different people and cultures. Maybe it´s not the most beautiful place in the world, but definitely I bring a tourist to my place.

To improve the area... mmm, I´ts difficult, but I would like more buses direct to Santiago Centro, sometimes it´s very hard to arrive, specially  in the night.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM ♥

Today i'm going to talk about one of my favorites singers in the hole world: LCD soundsystem. It was an electronic-rock-dance punk band from New York, formed for James Murphy, singer, producer and songwriter and Tim Goldsworthy.

I know about this band because one friend of me invite me to “In Edit”, a documentary film festival. In this festival, one of the movies was “Shut Up and Play the Hits”, the history from two last days of the band. James decided put and end to “LCD Soundsystem” and organized this documentary for remember the last concert, in Madison Square Garden. A Gorgeous concert, very emotive and mystic.

When i heard his music, immediately feels like all the audience in the theater became to dance in his seat. I love that feeling, when people enjoy life because music.

One of my favorites songs calls “Dance yrself clean”, I like to heard this song in the morning when I feel blue.
This is another of my favorites songs: “New York I love you, but you're bringing me down”. Remember me how i feel about living in Santiago.
